Butch Melton has been an industry veteran. He started his career as the General Foreman for United Exposition at the Chicago Hyatt on Wacker Dr. in 1980. At this time his father, uncle and cousins worked for UX. Butch was a very young General Foreman at the time when GES was created from UX. He worked for GES until 2009. During this time he was involved with many national trade shows and GES clients. In 2009 he started working for Freeman until 2011 as a National Sales Manager. He then came to help start Quantum Exposition with Patrick Lancaster and Jerry LeBlanc.
Recently Butch was admitted to his local hospital with an infection. It quickly escalated to sepsis and heart issues. Then he incurred a brain bleed which moved him into ICU. He brain has swelling and he has developed fluid in this lung. Sadly, Butch passed away on August 20, 2024.
