After a career in creating magic as a booth attraction, Lee Knight founded Exhibitor Magazine, an internationally recognized and award-winning publication, and later the trade show ExhibitorLive, not just as a business, but as a stage for ideas, a school for rebels, and a showcase for innovative design.

A dedicated dry fly fisherman, Lee believed that the real art wasn’t in the cast—it was in solving the problem of a clever trout. He felt most at home waist-deep in cold water beneath a mountain skyline, all patience and precision and wild joy.

Lee passed away in May of this year. He leaves behind his wife and fellow adventurer, Sharon Van De North, who matched him step for step with love and awe. Also surviving him daughter Shandra Knight, son Josh Knight, and their mother Diane Knight; bonus daughters Emily (Brian) and Martha McAuliffe; siblings Dru, Jan, and Lyn Knight; and eight grandchildren—each, he hoped, a future troublemaker. His friends and family recall countless stories of generosity and unpredictable gifts.
