Phil has been an employee of McCormick Place for over 35 years. He has had many jobs & titles throughout the years and is currently the Traffic Manager, managing all aspects of transportation in/around McCormick Place including the busway. He also assists with security and other services as needed.
Phil was initially stricken with Type 2 diabetes in 2011 and was then diagnosed with Leukemia in 2017. He has endured multiple surgeries, infusions & transplants related to the Leukemia and his current prognosis is extremely positive, with the hope of a full & complete recovery in time. Phil has suffered a massive financial hardship due to the lack of income while in the hospital over the past year. Costs have included hospital bills, medication & travel to/from multiple hospitals over the past year, while also continuing to care for his 88 year old mother and the house they live in.
