Kurt Walker, who was transformed from hard-knuckle Maple Leaf to a career in trade shows as labor contractor, passed away on August 17 after a brief illness. Kurt started in the industry with I&D in 1984 and started his own company, SOS (Service On Site) several years later, and eventually joined forces with Momentum Management.  Kurt was well known and loved throughout the industry with his passion for service and his bigger than life personality.

And, he was also a compassionate advocate for NHL players struggling with retirement. Many players who benefitted from his Dignity After Hockey charity weighed in with tributes, as did those who simply admired him for taking on such a difficult task.

Our sympathies go out to Kurt’s family and all his many friends and colleagues.
